Juliane van Dyk

Juliane grew up in Johannesburg, went to Randburg High School and qualified as a physiotherapist at Stellenbosch University in 1984. Straight after graduation, she started working at Tygerberg Hospital mostly doing adult neurology rehabilitation, ICU and chest physiotherapy. In 1986 she got married to James van Dyk and worked at Jan Kriel School in Kuilsriver in paediatrics.
After having three lovely sons she started working as a locum in a general Physiotherapy practice for a while in Brackenfell and Milnerton. In 2002 she started her own practice from home and moved to the Durbanville Family Care Center in 2003 until early 2020.

Juliane’s continuing professional development includes the Adult Hemiplegic neurodevelopmental course and advanced course as well as the Bobath/ Neurodevelopmental basic Paediatric couse. She also attends courses for continued development: Paediatric and Neuro group workshops, Pain Management etc.

From 2018 till early 2020 she was also involved with Stellenbosch University student supervision at Paarl school. As of 2020 she has been working at Wellspring in association with orther therapists.

Her special interest is in all things relating to neurological rehabilitation (Stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, Head injuries, Dementia, Delayed milestones, Cerebral palsy etc.).
